Corruption scandal shakes tier 6!

The High Elf team Eataine Blue Brine has reportedly bribed their way into an easy division. The experienced SSC team was promoted into division 6B, a division comprised of mostly rookie teams. Furthermore, the rest of the division is made up of mostly Elf, Wood Elf and Skaven teams, meaning that the heavily armoured high elves should have a chance to physically dominate many of their opponents. But the corruption doesn’t stop there, as the Brine has also been linked to steroid abuse, prostitution and even more sinister things.

The scandal started when unnamed sources in the OCC league office told the OCC Gazette that a high-ranking official incharge of distribution of teams into the lower tiers suddenly got rich in a hurry. Rumours started to swirl until the divisions for season 12 were revealed. Division 6B had no less than two Skaven teams and five different Elven teams as well as one team of the perpetually erratic Vampires. Network expert and retired star player Long Bomb Silver offered up his analysis: “Only Skull Carriers (Chaos) and Mork’s Finest (Orcs) represent the bashy teams, and they are very raw and inexperienced. All those squishy elves must be thrilled to be able to avoid being beaten to a pulp. Someone must have paid a lot of money to the league office for that schedule.” So clearly, there must be a bribe involved.

There are only three teams with any experience in the division, and of those, the Blue Brine is the wealthiest and most ambitious. Other candidates could be the Oakglade Reavers (Elf) and the Famine Lovers (Skaven), but the Reavers have an impeccable reputation and the league office is rumoured to have a grudge on the Lovers, so the suspicion falls on the Blue Brine. Says Silver: “I’d look to someone considering themselves the favourites, and The Blue Brine is as arrogant as any High Elf team. Maybe they hope to repeat what the Tombstone Cowboyz did in the same division in season 11. They had a perfect record and leapfrogged Tier 5 entirely.”

We asked the Eataine Blue Brine’s offensive coordinator “Lucky” Lindon for a comment on the allegations: “It’s all lies and fabrications. We’re an honest team, that plays by the rules. And if we decide to make a small donation to a needy official we don’t expect anything in return. We’re just happy to share some of the profit we have from playing in the SSC. Giving back to the community and all that.”

Shockingly, the scandal doesn’t stop there. Last season, the Eataine Blue Brine started slowly, managing only two draws and tre losses to start the season. Suddenly however, they began winning, crushing their final four opponents with a total score of 14-2. The turning point? When several of ther players inexplicably got a lot bigger and a lot stronger in hurry. Rumours speak of steroid abuse, and perhaps illegal magical enhancements as well. When confronted with the question, the freakishly athletic blitzer Gildor said: “I have never tested positive for steroids or any other performance enhancing drug. That’s all I have to say about that.”

Eataine Blue Brine is a relatively new team, but the OCC Gazette’s reporters have uncovered disturbing rumours. Some years back, a High Elf team known as the Pride of Ulthuan played in an inferior league named Bloodweiser Rookie Splat. They dominated the small division but lost the final to a Human team. Afterwards, many of their players couldn’t cope with their newfound stardom and descended into a destructive spiral of fast women and illegal substances. The authorities of Lothern even started an investigation into allegations that some members were involved with the Cult of Pleasure, a secret society of Slaanesh worshippers trying to corrupt the good people of Ulthuan. The charges were dropped when the evidence was destroyed in a suspicious fire, but the team was disbanded. A few years later, a new team moved into the old stadium. They were called Eataine Blue Brine, and their offensive coordinator was none other than “Lucky” Lindon, the former star thrower for the Pride of Ulthuan. Are the Eataine Blue Brine in fact the Pride of Ulthuan? And does that mean, that they have connections to the Cult of Pleasure? The OCC Gazette will dig deeper, of course.
